The most important modules

MIDI Player
MIDI Player is a regular MIDI player.

It can:
Open and play MIDI files.
Select MIDI output device.
Play, Pause, Stop and Close File.
Show time as regular time and MBT time.
Transpose during playback.
Change tempo during playback.
Mute MIDI channels.
Remember last selected MIDI device.
It is mainly used for quick control of MIDI files.

XF Player
XF Player is made for ready MIDI/XF/SongBook files, where the text and chords should be displayed during playback.

It can:
Play Yamaha XF MIDI files.
Show lyrics and chords.
Show red dot, so you can follow the position of the song.
Automatic scrolling during playback.
Show SongBook+ and Yamaha XF formats.
Use setlists.
Go to next/previous song.
Start next song automatically.
Change text size.
Transpose MIDI and chords.
Send SysEx on Play and Stop.
Remember selected MIDI device.

XF Player is especially designed for live use.

XF Editor
XF Editor is an editing tool for lyrics and chords in MIDI files.

It can:
Load MIDI.
Show a bar-based timeline.
Show chords, lyrics and line/page shift in separate lines.
Move lyrics and chords with the mouse.
Use raster/snap: 1/1, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, 1/32 or Free.
Insert lyric, chord, line break and page break.
Right-click menu with Edit, Delete and Undo.
Paste text and insert lyrics with the spacebar.
Find chords automatically from MIDI tracks.
Choose which MIDI tracks to use for chord finding.
Insert instrumental X from/to position.
Save as Yamaha XF MIDI.
Save as SongBook+ MIDI.
Export/import lyrics/chords as text.
Export/import SongBook text format.
Edit lyrics/chords in Notepad.
Transpose MIDI + chords, MIDI only or chords only.
Set new fixed tempo and save it.
Volume operation on CC7 or note velocity.

XF Editor is intended for creating and editing finished XF/SongBook files.

Setlist / MIDI Library
The Setlist module is a library system for large MIDI collections.

It can:
Scan folders with MIDI files.
Save results in database.
Search large MIDI libraries.
Show name, BPM, length, rating and file size.
Work with thousands of MIDI files.
View database in All-view or pages.
Create setlists.
Save and open setlists.
Export setlist MIDI files.
Export setlist lists.
Automatically create setlists by BPM, rating/energy or genre.
Play selected MIDI files.
Open a song directly in XF Editor.
Open a MIDI file in a Windows application.

It is especially useful if you have many MIDI files and want to organize your repertoire.

SysEx
The SysEx module is for users working with Yamaha/XG/SysEx codes.

It can:
Load SysEx Library CSV.
Save SysEx Library CSV.
Load and save Favorites.
Search for SysEx codes.
Filter by category.
Edit Description, Note, SysEx and Category.
Right-click for Send, Edit, Delete, Copy and Add to Favorites.
Send SysEx directly to keyboard.
Test MIDI connection with Identity Request.
Receive response from keyboard.
Decode Yamaha SysEx response where possible.
Run SysEx with placeholder, e.g. XX from 00 to 7F.
Send Block with multiple MIDI/SysEx lines.
Capture Patch from keyboard.
Save captured blocks in library.
Send Dump Requests to keyboard.

The SysEx module is especially for testing, analysis, backup of parameter areas and building your own SysEx library.

Event Printer
The Event Printer displays MIDI events in text form.

It can display:
Notes
Controllers
Program Change
Lyrics
Markers
SysEx
Yamaha/XG SysEx decoding
Meta events
MBT time
Selected track or all tracks
View from/to in MBT

It is used for troubleshooting and comparison with e.g. Cakewalk, PSRUTI or other MIDI programs.

Inspector
Inspector analyzes MIDI files and creates a report.
It can be used to view technical information about the MIDI file, tracks, events and structure.

Tools
Tools contains smaller tools: Pan Center,Converter, New Start, MIDI Clock

Pan Center: Sets pan to center on all tracks.

Converter: Converts MIDI Format 0 to Format 1 and vice versa.

New Start: Moves the start position of the MIDI file.

MIDI Clock: / Song Start: sends MIDI Start/Clock to the keyboard, so that the keyboard’s own MIDI song can be started with external clock.

CC Moving
CC Moving is used to copy CC commands from the Inspector to the Event list to process MIDI controller data.

This is relevant if a MIDI file has controller events that are wrong or need to be adjusted.

Signal Test
Signal Test is used for calibration and control.
It can help to see if the computer receives or plays signals correctly, and is used, among other things, together with Normalizer for audio/MIDI testing and level control.

Normalizer
Normalizer is used to work with audio levels and MIDI playback, so that files can be checked against a desired level.
